Light is Everything by Bill Allsopp
Why do I photograph? Because I have to; it has long been so. I have choice in what I photograph but not otherwise. I am driven to do it and to search for the why is perhaps to search for God. As a professional outdoor photographer my pictures have been published by magazines and books, used for advertising, on greetings / birthday cards and on the internet etc. I am available to produce commissioned work, please email a summary of the brief in the first instance.
My passion is photographing the British landscape. In the words of Belgian pictorialist Leonard Misonne "Light glorifies everything. It transforms and ennobles the most commonplace and ordinary subjects. The object is nothing; light is everything."
I am delighted that one of my images has been commended by the judges in the Landscape Photographer of the Year competition for 2018 and has won a place in the Awards book and at the London exhibition. This is the third year I have been successful.
I have published a book on landscape photography - you can read about it and buy a copy inside.
